PURCHASING LACROSSE EQUIPMENT
Since lacrosse is still fairly new to our area, there is a limited amount of equipment available in our local sporting goods stores. However, both Dick’s Sporting Goods and Big 5 do carry lacrosse equipment in SLO county stores.
If your child is brand new to lacrosse, it may be easier and considerably less expensive to purchase a “starter kit” online. Most websites provide detailed sizing information that can help guide you on which sizes to purchase. US Lacrosse also provides an excellent Eqipment Fitting Guide: http://www.uslacrosse.org/safety/equipment
Starter kits that include a stick, helmet, gloves, elbow pads, and shoulder pads can be found online for under $200. When purchasing items separately it’s not unusual to pay $100 or more for just a helmet.
COSTS and ONLINE STORES
Most prices are with or without a helmet. Ranging from $140 to $200
